http://www.tccc-ryss.org/www/RYSS/site/hosting/rysswpca/w.velasquez/17thannwvelasquezgala.pdf The Tejano Center is pleased to invite you to be a sponsor for this year’s premier event, the 17th Annual Willie Velasquez Hispanic Excellence Award Gala to be held on Friday, September 14, 2007, at the Galleria’s Omni Houston Hotel, located at Four Riverway Boulevard, Houston, Texas.The event will include a VIP Reception at 6:30 pm, followed by a banquet and award ceremony starting at 7:15 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Houston’s own Walter Sur and Mango Punch, 2004 Super Bowl XXXVIII pre-game entertainment. In addition, there will be a first-class silent auction. Marcelo Marini & Telemundo, KTMD TV are again partnering with Houston’s most prominent corporate and community leaders to advance the aggressive multiple mission of: improving the educational opportunities for Houston’s children and their families providing social and health services for low-income children, families and providing emergency shelter for abused and neglected children from the Greater Houston Area and Harris County. Tejano Center programs impacted by funds raised at the Willie Velasquez Gala include the Raul Yzaguirre Charter School for Success, the Tejano Health Clinic, the Tejano Child Placing Agency, the Tejano Children’s Emergency Shelter, the Youth Empowerment Project, "Proyecto Poder". The After-School Enrichment Program, the TCCC Affordable Housing Development program. The Katrina Outreach Center and the dynamically evolving Career & Technology Center. The Tejano Center is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to improve life opportunities of low-income children and families through the provision of education, social and health services and community development initiatives.
